Laura Muir sets a new British 1000m record in Monaco
Laura Muir breaks Kelly Holmes’ 1000m mark with 2:30.82 at the Herculis Meeting in Monaco in her second 1000m run. The European 1500m champion, finished second behind Kenya’s Olympic 1500m champion Kipyegon. Muir showed a strong performance at the Diamond League final and she said “You want to race the race and I would love to have gone out there and won but coming second to the Olympic champion is pretty good”, “I’ve gone for that British record once before and missed it so to get it here was great.”
