Comeback for Konstanze Klosterhalfen and 10k NR at the Texas Qualifier
It was a successful last night at the Texas Qualifier in Austin especially for the German runner “Koko” (Konstanze Klosterhalfen).
The highlight was Koko’s Comeback, as well as 10,000m debut. In her season opener she set a new German Record with a time of 31:01.71 min; also a Tokyo Olympic Games automatic qualifier. After her race she said: “I can’t believe it. I’ve never run the 10,000 meters before and was a little nervous about the length of the race. I am very happy.”
There were two more winners at the Texas Qualifier last night. Canadian 1,500m runner Gabriela Stafford finished first in a time of 4:10.09min, while Mason Ferlic took the victory over 5,000m in a time of 13:25.92min.
