Annie Bersagel wins Dusseldorf Marathon

American Annie Bersagel ran a big PB of 2:28:59 to win the 2014 Metro Group Marathon in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Even though it’s been raining during the entire race, Annie followed her plan and went through half the distance in 75:02min. She was then able to run more than a minute faster for the second half and won the race by 90sec.

Ethopian’s Selomie Getnet crossed the finish line in 2:30:29 and was leading the race until 37km before Annie managed to overtake her.

With the win today Annie became the first US champion in the history of the Metro Group Marathon Dusseldorf.
