Greg Rutherford breaks British Record
Olympic Long Lump Champion Greg Rutherford jumps a new British Record of 8.51m.
It was this Thursday evening when Greg competed at the OTC high performance meet in Chula Vista, California. After two fouls he jumped 8.18m before he managed a wind legal jump of 8.51m (+1.7) on his fourth attempt for the British Record. American Tyron Stewart finished 2nd with 8.39 (+2.0), while Olympic bronze medalist Will Claye finished 3rd with 8.29m (+4.1), his best wind legal jump was 8.01 (+1.3).

“I’m shaking. I can’t believe how amazing today has been. Absolutely buzzing. I’ve waited a long time for this.” Greg said.
Greg will return to the UK early next week and is scheduled to compete at the BT Great City Games in Manchester on the 17th of May, as well as the FBK Games in Hengelo on June 8 and the Sainsbury’s Glasgow Diamond League this July.
