Arne Gabius breaks German Marathon Record
Arne Gabius brakes 27-year old German Marathon Record with a time of 2:08:33h in the Frankfurt Marathon. His new personal best is 14 sec faster than the previous National Record and 59sec faster than his old personal record.
Going through the first half in 63:21min showed his ambition to not only attack a new PB, but also to break the old NR. With the beginning of KM 28 Arne started to battle through a rough phase before picking up one runner after the other. At the end he finished 4th in a world class field.
This was only his 2nd marathon of his career and showed his potential over this distance.
Arne will be running a spring marathon in 2016 before focusing on the Olympic marathon in Rio.
