Ben True sets American Record at B.A.A. 5k

With 600 meters to go, Ben True (Saucony) took the lead in the B.A.A. 5k in Boston this Saturday, and when the finish line clock came into his view on the final straightaway through Boston Public Garden, he knew his American 5k Road Record was within reach.

True, who’s from New Hampshire, finished in 13:20min, a new American Record; while Stephen Samba finished 2nd in 13:22min and James Kibet of Kenya third in 13:28min.

True will run the 3k at the Doha Diamond League meeting in May.
